واشنطن وصفت الحادث بأنها محاولة تنفيذ هجوم إرهابي
تحقق سلطات الأمن الأمريكية في حادثة وقعت على متن طائرة ركاب متجهة إلى الولايات المتحدة وقد اعتقل فيها شخص للتحقيق معه.
وذكرت وسائل الإعلام الأمريكية ان الرجل حاول اشعال فتيل متفجرات على متن الرحلة بين العاصمة الهولندية أمستردام ومدينة ديترويت شمالي الولايات المتحدة.
وبحسب التقارير الإعلامية فإن الرجل قال للمحققين إنه عضو في تنظيم القاعدة.
ونقلت قناة "سي ان ان" عن بيان لمكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي ان الرجل قال للمحققين إنه حصل على المتفجرات في اليمن حيث تلقى اوامر بشأن توقيت استخدامها.
وتم ابلاغ الرئيس باراك اوباما الذي يمضي اجازة مع اسرته في هاواي, بالحادث وامر على الفور بتعزيز تدابير الامن الجوي وذلك بعد ان تباحث هاتفيا مع فريقه للأمن القومي.
وقد اعلن متحدث باسم البيت الأبيض ان الحادث محاولة"اعتداء إرهابي".
