برنامج الغذاء العالمي يقلص حجم المساعدات الغذائية للنازحين واللاجئين
أعلن برنامج الغذاء العالمي التابع للأمم المتحدة اليوم الجمعة إن النقص في مواردها اضطرتها إلى خفض الحصص الغذائية لنحو مليون شخص في اليمن بالرغم من تزايد الجوع المزمن.
وقالت إميليا كاسيلا المتحدثة باسم برنامج الغذاء العالمي في في مؤتمر صحفي عقدته في جنيف إن إمكاناتنا من الغذاء لاتكفي لحصول جميع المستفيدين في اليمن على الحصة الكاملة، وهذا ماسيجعلنا نخفض الحصة.
البرنامج يقوم بتقديم المعونات لحوالي مليون شخص شهريا في البلاد وهي تشمل 250000 شخص من النازحين جراء حرب صعدة إضافة إلى اللاجئين الصوماليين وأطفال المدارس.
وأضافت المتحدثة أنه تم تخفيض حصص الأفراد في فبراير من 1200 كيلو سعرة حرارية للشخص الواحد إلى 1700 كيلو مؤكدة أنه قد يكون من الضروري إجراء مزيد من التخفيض إذا لم تقدم الجهات المانحة التمويل.
من جانبه قال منسق عمليات الاغاثة الطارئة في الامم المتحدة أمس إن الوضع الانساني باليمن يتفاقم وان الدول المانحة تنأى بنفسها عن هذا البلد الامر الذي يعرض برامج المساعدات للخطر.
وأضاف لرويترز إن احتدام القتال بين القوات الحكومية والمتمردين الحوثيين في شمال اليمن يحول دون وصول منظمات الإغاثة إلى المدنيين المحاصرين.
وطبقا لاحصائيات الامم المتحدة فان نحو 250 الف شخص فروا من منازلهم خلال الصراع المستمر منذ خمسة اعوام في افقر دول العالم العربي مما ضاعف العدد منذ اندلاع احدث جولة من القتال في اغسطس اب.
وقال هولمز لرويترز "الوضع الانساني يتفاقم دون ادني شك..الاحتياجات كبيرة وتواجه خطر عدم الوفاء بها لان استجابة المجتمع الدولي -المانحين- لم تكن على النحو الذي كنا نأمل."
وطلبت الامم المتحدة في اواخر العام الماضي توفير مبلغ 177 مليون دولار مساعدات انسانية لليمن خلال عام 2010. وقال هولمز انه لم يتم تمويل سوى 0.4 في المئة.
وحذر هولمز قائلا "اذا لم نحصل على بعض الاموال فان تدفق المساعدات سوف يتوقف." وقال هولمز ان برنامج الاغذية العالمي التابع للامم المتحدة كان قد أشار الى ان "تدفق الطعام على وشك ان يتوقف وسيتعين عليهم خفض الاعداد التي يساعدونها" في اليمن.
وتشير أحدث دراسة استقصائية لبرنامج الأغذية العالمي إلى أن واحدا من بين كل اليمنيين 3 -- أو 7.5 مليون نسمة -- يعانون من الجوع المزمن ، كاسيلا ايضا لرويترز.
ويحتاج البرنامج الى 30 مليون دولار للأشهر الستة المقبلة لتغطية احتياجات الأغذية في اليمن ، وقالت. كما وقف "الفجوة" التدبير ، قد استخدمه على قرض داخلي قدره 4 ملايين دولار
