أغلقت السفارتان الامريكية والبريطانية في صنعاء ابوابهما اليوم الاحد بسبب تهديدات تنظيم القاعدة.
وقال بيان صادر عن السفارة الأمريكية ان "السفارة في صنعاء مغلقة اليوم، الثالث من يناير/ كانون الثاني بسبب التهديدات المستمرة لتنظيم القاعدة في جزيرة العرب باستهداف المصالح الأمريكية في اليمن". وذكر البيان الرعايا الامريكيين بضرورة "الحفاظ على مستوى مرتفع من التيقظ والحذر". وقال ناطق باسم السفارة الأمريكية انه لن يعلق بشأن ما إذا كان هناك تهديد معين. وجاء قرار الاغلاق بعد يوم واحد من محادثات اجراها في صنعاء الرئيس اليمني علي عبد الله صالح مع الجنرال ديفيد بتريوس، قائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية. دولة فاشلة وقالت وزارة الخارجية البريطانية لبي بي سي انها اغلقت السفارة البريطانية في صنعاء "لاسباب امنية" وذلك بعد مرور ساعات على اعلان الولايات المتحدة اغلاق ابواب سفارتها. وكان رئيس الوزراء البريطاني، جوردون براون، قال ان بلاده ستتعاون مع الولايات المتحدة في مجالات دعم مكافحة الإرهاب في اليمن. ودعا براون الى الحذر في تقديم المساعدات الى اليمن التي وصفها بالدولة الفاشلة.
